This guide will cover the Initial Creation Screen as well as the Teams/Groupings and Design/Results tabs.
Creating Your Custom Pick'em Contest
- Select the icon in the bottom right corner and then select Pick'em
Primary Settings
- Contest Category
Select the appropriate contest category from the list.
- Contest Name
The contest name will be displayed on the Welcome Page and included in any automated emails related to the contest.
Tip! You can change this at any time.
- Contest Start Date
Enter the date of when you want your first week/day/round of questions to begin.
- Number of Correct Answers
One Correct Answer - Examples are Two Team Sports Contests and Award Shows
Multiple Correct Answers - Example is AutoRacing
Tip! This option cannot be changed once the contest has been created. If you find that you've chosen the wrong option, you will need to create a new contest.
- Status
You can change the status at any time. Changing a Test contest to Live does not reset any settings or registrations.
- Fan Gallery
When enabled, there will be an area where users can upload photos related to the contest.
- Contest Runs
Select how many rounds the contest should have, then choose their type/duration. For example, if you set the contest to 3 Weeks, the contest will automatically have 3 rounds - each one week long. Text within the contest will also reflect the type/duration you have chosen. If you choose 3 Weeks, all rounds in the contest will be referred to as 'Weeks'.
- Score Limitations
Select the number of weeks/days/rounds that count towards the overall score. You could choose to set this to less than the length of the overall contest to build in a grace period for late registrants.
- Feedback Email Address
Enter one or more email addresses that should receive user feedback. If you enter more than one email address, separate them by commas.
Teams & Groupings
- Create any necessary Groups (Ex. 5A Schools, 4A Schools, 3A Schools, or JV and Varsity)
- Add all necessary Teams
Insert Primary Grouping
Add Team Content Links - These are just external links you can add for your Teams
Adding a 2 Team-Game
Tip! If you are running a custom sports contest, you will want to add a New 2-Team Game
- Set the Status
When you want users to be able to make a pick for the matchup, you will want to set it to Open for Picking
- Select if this game is a Tie Breaker Game
- Assign the Question Worth
- Assign the Grouping
- Insert the Cutoff Date/Time
This will dictate when the game will close for picks.
- Add the Team Matchup
- Repeat this Process for all Matchups within that Week/Round
Adding a New Question
- Set the Status
When you want users to be able to make a pick for the matchup, you will want to set it to Open for Picking
- Select if this game is a Tie Breaker Game
- Assign the Question Worth
- Assign the Grouping
- Insert the Cutoff Date/Time
- Insert the Question Text
- Select How the Answers will Display
You can choose for the answers to display as Radio Buttons or within a Pull-Down
- Insert Your Answer Options
Updating Scores Once Games Have Closed
- Select the Edit Option for each Matchup
- Change the Status to Final
- Enter the Score for the Matchup or the Correct Answer for Your Questions
- Save Out Leaders and Pick Week's Winners
If it is the final week of your contest, you would also pick your Overall Winners.
