Custom Pick'em Contest - Branding

This guide will walk through how you can insert Branding for your Custom Pick'em Contest.

Select the Publish Option

You can choose to have your contest hosted by Second Street where we will publish the promotion onto your organizations' upickem.net URL, or you can embed the contest.

Embedding on a SiteCustom Pickem - embed

To embed your contest, select the Embedded on option, and input the URL where it will live on your site (example: secondstreet.com/contests/profootballpickem).

Click to Get Embed Code or Wordpress Shortcode to access your embed code. If you're using Wordpress, you will be prompted to download and install the Second Street plugin.

Copy and Paste the embed code into your Content Management System (CMS)

Tip! If you are embedding your contest on a secure (HTTPS) page, please reach out to our CX team here so we can enable SSL for your contest!

Using a Scrape Page or Custom HTML Wrapper2020-09-08_18-05-49

  • Auto-Branding (Scrape Page)
A scrape page is a URL that lives on your organizations' content management system. It contains HTML representing the look and feel of your organization along with a token, {UPICKEM}, which represents the section within the HTML that the Pick'em will be appear.
You will most likely either nest the token in <div> tags or in a table cell <td>. You can place content on all four (4) sides of the contest if you wish.
The system will immediately grab a copy of the branding. It will attempt to correct any relative links in the HTML as well. You may want to have a unique template for each contest so that you can traffic specific ad campaigns and get accurate traffic reports; creating unique templates will allow you to have unique traffic reporting tags on each template.

  • Custom Branding

If you can't create templates for auto branding on your server, you can also insert static branding into the contest. If you choose to pursue custom branding, you will need to fix all links and references to be absolute instead of relative. An absolute path includes the full URL of the link including the domain name.

For example a graphic would be referred to by :

http://www.mysite.com/images/altnav_01.gif

Not:

../images/altnav_01.gif

You will indicate the location of the contest by inserting the following token: {UPICKEM}.

This is where you would insert HTML for graphics, text, flash files, or ad tags that you would like to appear above the contest.

Heads Up! Any images inserted here will need to be hosted. If you do not have a way to host your images, our support team will be able to help you host them and provide you with the hosted URL.
