Setup Help

Legacy Submission Contests - Submissions Page

This page allows you to edit and configure the form used when contestants submit an entry into your contest. You can also change the default sizes for the thumbnail and preview images that are generated for image and video contests.

Select the Submission Page Tab

sub1

Tip! For a multi-round contest, the Submission page can be set up differently for each round. The Viewing dropdown menu at the top of the page will indicate which rounds page is being edited.

If you want all rounds to be the same or share the majority of the settings, we recommend configuring the first round and then using the Copy Settings tool in the Setup Options section to duplicate the settings to the other desired rounds.

Changing Default Image Sizes

sub2

Portrait Thumbnail Height

Defaults to 100 pixels, but can be any value from 100-250 pixels

Portrait Mouseover Height

Defaults to 480 pixels, but can be any value from 250-1000 pixels

Landscape Thumbnail Height

Defaults to 100 pixels, but can be any value from 40-160 pixels

Landscape Mouseover Height

Defaults to 360 pixels, but can be any value from 100-1000 pixel

The mouseover image is used both when mousing over a thumbnail and the image pops up, and it is also used for the preview image displayed in the slide show mode.

Tip! If you change these values after you have already received some submissions, they will not be converted to the new value, you would have to export the images and resubmit them using the methods outlined in the Screen Submissions section.

Submissions Inactive Message - Step 1

sub3

The Settings area on the Submissions Page allows you to configure the message that will be displayed in the Submissions tab before and after the Submission phase. Select the Edit Message option to edit this text.

The default text is:

"Submissions cannot be made at this time. Check your welcome tab for contest dates/times."

Submissions Inactive Message - Step 2

sub4

You are free to replace or edit this text with something more targeted for your contest and community. This field, like most others unless otherwise indicated, supports HTML, so you are able to embed images, logos, ads, etc.

For example, let's say you're creating a Cutest Canine Contest. You could change the Header to read "Enter Your Pooch!" and the Text to say " We're accepting pooch entries from June 1st to June 30th!"

Tip! Remember that this message will appear both before and after submissions are accepted.

Code Verification

sub89

This group contains code to post a Captcha system on the Submission form.

Tip! We highly recommend including Code Verification to prevent unscrupulous entrants from writing scripts to submit entries. This is especially useful in the drawing and sweepstakes contests.

We use the ReCaptcha system from Carnegie Mellon University, where the system was pioneered. For more information, go to http://www.recaptcha.net.
