Setup Help and Best Practices

Nomination & Voting Ballot Creation - Admin Tool Setup

This guide will step through how you can set your ballot up manually.

Ballot Styles

Simple

A simple ballot is a ballot that has a single subject of focus. An example would be a 'Vote for Your Favorite Doughnut' ballot, in which the user could vote for a specific doughnut that has been added to the ballot for voting, or write-in their favorite.

Categories

A ballot with categories can have multiple subjects of focus. An example would be a 'Vote for Your Favorite Pizza Restaurant' ballot based on the type of pizza they make. So your categories might be Thin Crust, Hand Tossed, and Deep Dish. Entrants would be added to a category based on the type of pizza they offer, or users can write-in their favorite for each category.

Groups of Categories

A ballot with groups of categories allows you to create an overall hierarchy for your ballot, where you can create Groups to which you add categories. An example of a group would be Food and Dining. Inside the Food and Dining group you would have categories such as Pizza, Steak house, Italian restaurant, etc.
