Feature Add-Ons
Why is my Email Only Displaying Three Items?
By default, the email designer will only pull in the first three Items (or Articles) designated by the template. When at least one of the first three Items is completed, you will see the option to Add Item 4 which will allow you to add further items. Completed Items will receive a checkmark and will update to the Headline text (if the Headline is disabled, it will only receive a checkmark) as seen below.
How to Complete an Item
Import Articles
Import an article by clicking Import Article, pasting a link to an RSS feed, and then selecting the article you’d like this Item to pull in content from.
Manual Item/Article Creation
You can also create items/articles manually by adding content to the Headline, Image, Description, and Button areas.
Headline
- Link Text
This is where you will type in the Headline text you want to display in the body of the email.
- Link URL
This is where you will insert the URL for the article or content.
Heads Up! The placeholder text for the Link Text and Link URL must be removed in order for the Headline to show as completed. If you don’t want to include a Headline, click the red toggle button to the right of the Headline section to disable.
Image
Heads Up! Items must include more than just an image or they will not complete. As a best practice, text should be included in every email send.
- New Image
If the RSS feed that you are using does not have an image for an article, or if you are importing manually, this is where you would upload a new image either via your computer, image library, or via a link.
- Link URL
This is where you can insert a URL to link to the image. If you do not want to include a link, the placeholder text example.com link must be removed in order for the image to appear as complete.
- Description (Alt Text)
When images do not load or someone is using a screen reader, alt text briefly describes the image. If you do not wish to add alt text (we strongly recommend adding alt text), you must remove the placeholder image text.
Description
Here you will add the Item Description text that will display as preview text for the Item that you’re completing. You must either remove the placeholder text and add your own text, or toggle the Description section off.
Button
Heads Up! Items must include more than just a button or they will not complete. As a best practice, text should be included in every email send.
- Link Text
This is where you will add the text you want to display on your button.
- Link URL
This is where you will add the link that your button will link to.
